UGT edita una guía para asesorar a inmigrantes sobre riesgos laborales en la construcción

UGT ha editado, en colaboración con el Ministerio de Trabajo y Asuntos Sociales, una guía dirigida a los trabajadores inmigrantes de la construcción para asesorarles sobre la salud en el trabajo y los riesgos laborales en este sector.

La Unión General de Trabajadores (UGT) ha publicado una guía para la difusión de las normas mínimas de seguridad laboral entre los trabajadores inmigrantes en la construcción, junto a otras cuestiones como contratos, salarios, permisos, jornada, horas extraordinarias, etc.

La publicación es la continuación de una guía laboral editada recientemente, en colaboración con el grupo Sacyr Vallehermoso, la Fundación Santamaría-Ediciones SM, y la Sociedad de Prevención de Asepeyo.

Según la organización sindical, ambas iniciativas se encuadran en la política que también está desarrollando MCA-UGT con la intención de evitar las situaciones de abuso laboral a la que se ven sometidos en muchas ocasiones estos trabajadores.

La guía será distribuida gratuitamente entre los trabajadores afectados a través de las estructuras y los delegados sindicales de UGT, así como entre las empresas asociadas de la Sociedad de Prevención Asepeyo, y en las obras de Sacyr Vallehermoso.

El sector de la construcción, que cuenta con más de 2,5 millones de ocupados en España (el 13% de la población activa), se nutre en un 21,5% de trabajadores extranjeros no comunitarios (556.800 empleados), el doble de la media del conjunto de los sectores, mayoritariamente procedentes de Latinoamérica y del Norte de África, según datos de la Encuesta de Población Activa (EPA).

Por otro lado, el número de inmigrantes residentes ha pasado de 0,9 millones en 2000 a 4 millones en 2006. Además, este colectivo accedió a 1,32 de los 2,63 millones de empleos creados entre 2001 y 2005.
